Hope in Despair (poem)
Whirling and twirling in a frantic pace Striving each day just to save face All that we are is all that we've done Yet still so unsure of what we'll become Time grants us choices, and it's up to us To follow a path that is right and just We've fallen, forgotten and were lost before So now here's a chance to do something more All of our options out on the table Ready and willing, so we must be able To not kid ourselves about what we're worth Time for reflection for all of the Earth Each day is a gift, not a guarantee Some are not as fortunate as you or me If there's something to learn as we cope with insanity It's to never give up on the hope of humanity Our hearts a reflection of our Lord above Able to heal wounds through acts of love So each one of us that shows any care Is a shining example of our hope in despair
