The Road Ahead Poem

A poem I wrote comparing life to a road we travel.

The road ahead is quite uncertain

Like a window behind the curtain

We may not know what lies ahead

But trust and hope for where we’re lead

As we embrace the twists and turns

We can find that for which one yearns

The sun can burn so bright one day

But clouds and night can block our way

And some don’t heed life’s warning signs

Speeding, swerving through the lines

And so with all of these we travel

Pavement, dirt roads and some gravel

We may travel at a different pace

But life’s roads need not be a race
