It's Cold Outside, But It's Warm in My Heart (Poem)

It's late April and just 50 degrees.

And with the wind chill it feels like the 40s.

I know New Jersey often gets a bad rap,

But with weather like this, I will not stand and clap. '

Well it's cold outside, but it's warm in my heart.

I've got a lot of love and that's a nice place to start.

I can't get a break, but I can go get my coat.

And I'll keep my dreams alive that keep me afloat.

I was with my dog, Bella, we were out for a walk.

When all of a sudden, something just set her off.

She pounced into me and then started to bite.

And as Sebastian would say "Man that just ain't right".

I gradually learned that it's attention she craves.

So I turned my back, and I no longer gave.

I made note of all my surroundings  and then.

When I turned back around, she walked normal again.

The moral of this story is that life can be strange.

There will always be things that you cannot change.

But you still have yourself and that's a nice place to start.

And you can take a look inside your big beautiful heart.
