WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
In
Orwell’s dystopia, these are the statements which “Big Brother” (the
government) wants to instill in everyone.
To prevent rebellion, the “Thought Police” target and capture any and
all dissidents, with their punishment to be doled out in due time. In search for a way out, main character,
Winston Smith keeps a diary (strictly forbidden by society) and meets some
people who help him understand these crazy days. All the while, the Thought Police’s suspicion
grows about Smith. This butting of heads
leads to a great contest between predator and prey in a rare battle for truth.
