Pray for Gaza: Hope Beyond the Hashtag
In a world of competition, compassion is often sacrificed on the altar of imperialism. Such is the case with Israel's treatment of Palestine, and specifically, Gaza. There is no concern for international law. Israel claims Palestine as their land to be obtained no matter how barbaric their actions of violence and inaction to help suffering. The United Nations, designed for international peace, shows that only the U.S., Israel, Canada, the Czech Republic and a few island nations voted against Palestine in 2012 (1). The fact that Palestine is denied needed aid, specifically food and medicine, while Israel receives increasing amounts of money and resources, shows preferential treatment which eviscerates justice. Violence begets violence, and since Israel has the bigger guns, they have the larger role in devastation, backed by "freedom-loving USA" 100%.
