Repentance Poem

Image
Repentance Can you hear me high up there? Watching over from the air, I call on you, there’s not much left; Despite my skills that once were deft. I’ve promised over and over again. I’ve pledged to change without an end. Yet, none of this amounts to dirt, When I turn away and hurt What once defined me with great joy. No longer am I just a boy. I now petition, but of no use. My heart is still breaking loose From frigid chains that bound it tight. They kept me held in such a fright.   I plead with you; this time I’m sure. May you please help provide my cure.

Curly's Song

From 3 Stooges' "I Can Hardly Wait" Curly’s Song She was bread in old Kentucky; But she’s only a crumb up here. She’s knock-kneed and double jointed; With a cauliflower ear. Some day we shall be married. And if vegetables get too dear, I’ll cut myself a nice big slice, Of our cauliflower ear.

Easier Said than Done Poem

Image
Obstacles litter our path to success. We can’t be sure what’s to come next. Yet, somehow we find a way; That carries us throughout our day. Actions show us our true side. Be yourself, let truth reside. Our life is a delicate balance. Each one has their own allowance. Teams are made and events planned. Find out quick just where you stand. For time won’t wait; it never did. Don’t let obstructions make you skid. Stay on track, with what is true. Then, it’s hard to deceive you. At the start, times are so hard. We hope life dealt us a good card. Soon one finds a sound pattern; Orbiting it like the rings of Saturn. Who is there to stop us now? We made it here, I told you how.

Hawaii: Land of the Spirit poem

Hawaii: Land of the Spirit Beside the rich land in the sea Is where my heart now wants to be. If I could have just one wish, I’d be swimming among the fish. The sun shines on for everyone, It’s really hard to not have fun. Beautiful islands, big and small, Without a doubt, I love them all. Aloha I say with a smile, Hawaii must wait a while.

Psych Story

Believe it or not, it helps me study much more than just memorizing index cards. Psych Story             Mr. Cerebrum was busy regulating thousands of brain responses in the upper-parent of cranial activity when he was abruptly disturbed.  Reticular Formation , the network of neurons he usually works with, sent out this message on the Axon : “Calling all higher parts of brain, Calling all higher parts of brain: prepare to stand guard and at the ready.  Joe is about to take his first psychology exam, and we don’t want to let him down.”  The short fibers jutting out from the cell body, known as Dendrites , picked up this message.  Cerebral Cortex , in charge of most complex behavior, was first to respond: “Copy that, RF, I’m in full-functioning mode.”  Frontal Lobe , controlling voluntary movement, attention, goal-oriented behavior and appropriate emotional responses, answered RF’s call: “You can count on me to be at utmost attention, pushing Joe towards that A.”  All systems wer

Another $16 trillion in virtually zero interest loans and other financial assistance came from the Federal Reserve. America. What a great country. But just two

Summer on it's Way Poem

The first poem I ever wrote (in fifth grade).  Although it surely is winter, Summer may be closer than it appears. Summer on its Way With summer on its way I don’t know what to say Teachers in my ear Those voices that I hear I know I won’t forget But it’s not over yet With summer on its way I have so much to say!

Strangers from Afar Poem

Strangers from Afar Down the winding path we walk straight on through the night. On our way we start to talk beneath the pale moonlight. “I’m not sure if we’re wanted here” I said to my friend John. “Joe, there’s nothing to fear, we’re right where we belong.” This is a foreign place and we both knew at first look. I’m starting to feel trapped like a fish stuck on a hook. John and I on this strange path are strangers from afar. Looking up at the night sky, we follow the north-star. We continue on our journey, although I’m not sure why. Right now it’s just John and I under the starry sky.

Reflection Poem

Reflection I look down at the water and do you know what I see? It is my very own face staring right back at me. Certainly this is not a deception. Rather it is my very own reflection. The water carries my face in the crystal sunlight. My eyes looking back at me are like a second sight. Unfortunately I cannot live two lives. My real being lives on but my reflection dies.

The Jokerman Poem

The Jokerman Laughing away, now isn’t it fun? The Jokerman’s life has begun. I see behind his smiling face. He doesn’t want to reveal a trace. What he’s done gave birth to grief. On my knees, I pray for relief. Beneath his hat, parted in three, Unforgiving eyes glance back at me. Fear is the weapon he uses for fun, And he shoots it out of his ominous gun. To avoid being hit, I run through the halls. My ears hear his laughter off of the walls. He’s cornered me now and what can I do? I really feel as if I’m stuck like glue. Oh, Joker man why do you do this. He aims and fires, at least it’s a miss.

Rollerblading Poem

One of my favorite things to do when it's not 10 degrees and snowing like crazy in Plattsburrrrrrgh. Rollerblading The blades glide across the ground on the ever-rolling wheels. I love the quiet sound and the way the breeze feels. Riding down the street with a smile on my face, I shove my moving feet to quicken up the pace. Rollerblades must by controlled for a safe and pleasant ride. Forget daring and bold, I put all that aside. However, I move quicker, as the wind blows through my hair. I watch the street lights flicker and realize I’m almost there. Rollerblading is great fun and it’s easy if you try. That’s how I got it done, and no, that is not a lie.

Ringing Bells Poem

Ringing Bells  Ringing bells are in my head I think about what I have said Reflecting on where I am now Amazed at what I did allow The bells excite me with their chime Take me back to a former time Their ring is constant and surely loud Its message lingers like a cloud Who knew such power came from a bell Will I learn? Only time will tell.
