Noam Chomsky Poem

Image
Noam Chomsky There’s an octogenarian who we should be sparing from The lack of consideration that he is sharing Along with others shedding light on our world Confused with the daily spite that we’re hurled Mr. Noam Chomsky has been active for decades In siding with those who are considered renegades Along with those who lack the occasion To make public their constant frustration Though his intellect is pure, he’s constantly ignored By media elites, who show those that boar us With celebrity gossip, instead of reckless profit By Wall Street it’s all deceit, they don’t stop it So Mr. Chomsky, I just wanted to say Thank you for showing us a different way

Aiding the Enemy and the Persecution of Truth

If anything invites compelling reasons to drop the "Aiding the Enemy Charge" against PFC Bradley Manning, it is the testimony of Manning's defense attorny, David Coombs @ http://rt.com/usa/manning-judge-aiding-enemy-denied-266/.  Here, Coombs pulls out multiple witnesses and past interactions Manning had to prove, in numerous ways, he had no intention of aiding the enemy and harming the United States with his released information.  The fact that videos such as "Collateral Murder" don't cast the US military in a favorable light is irrelevant.  Hiding legalized war crimes such as this only invites the continuation of similar tragedies down the road.  Where any of the gunners in the helicopter that murdered unarmed civilians trying to help the injured even sought after, let alone prosecuted?  Who's the bigger threat here?  By exposing these atrocities for what they are, we call the public to step back and think about the disparities between pro-war rhetoric

Words of Emotions Poetry #Poetry #Writing #SelfWritten #Expression

If one looked at my life, they’d be shook by the strife But that’s just a part of why I’m so alive My pain has taught me throughout the years To be the one that will chew out my fears So, I have these words for you all today I hope you don’t listen, but feel what I say Pop culture won’t care if you fall to decay Read something, write something, live your own way No two human beings are completely the same Despite technologies trying to give us all one name And ideologies that bring you into their game When we use our uniqueness, we put them all to shame Look at the structure of society around you Like broken promises have finally found you The elite can fix our infrastructure and economy It’s like all of our leaders had a mass lobotomy I say they can take their profit and burn it all to ash That’s just what they’re doing with untaxed corporate cash Overseas the money followed close behind the jobs What deals are going on? Open those locked doo

Only a Memory (My Lyrics to Yanni's Song)

I was listening to "Only a Memory", an instrumental song by composer, Yanni, and came up with these lyrics to the music: I don’t know how this could be, or even if it is Questions hover over the night’s cold abyss Memories of what could be, when you’re not here with me How I wanted you to know, I’d never let you go And the only thing that hurts, is to know you really were Only a memory, memory, memory A memory for me If I were only granted one wish, it would be on all the stars We be just who we wanted, we could stay just how we are Yes, I only wanted you, but you faded to the blue Only a memory, memory, memory A memory for me

Overseas Tax Havens and it's Discontents #TaxHavens #Inequality #LoopHoles

I just read some of a Truth-Out article titled "Richest 300 Persons on Earth Have More Money than Poorest 3 billion."  It lists the World Banks international loans and manipulation of financial laws as reasons why.  I list sickness as the chief reason.  The disease manifesting itself among the wealthy and powerful as a desire for more wealth and power.  In this craze, the natural world, human health and safety and millions of workers are sacrificed.  Let's take Apple as just one example.  Apple has, according to a NY Times "Business Day" article, "offshore entities holding tens of billions of dollars while claiming to be tax resident nowhere."  This is worse than criminal, it is sickening.  At a time when our public schools are decaying, infrastructure is collapsing and our environment is in peril, the world's wealthiest only seem to care about becoming wealthier.  The Wall Street Journal analyzed 60 major "American" companies and found t

Inside Out Poem

Inside Out What to do with the working classes Bring some hope to the jerking masses Does it make money, then it passes But evil comes quick like lightning flashes The cries in my ear, denying my fear Screaming for someone just trying to hear Listen with your heart, not with the money chart Wealth here will expire, except when it’s in art Love is our teacher, our heart is the preacher Guiding us, providing just light for the seeker We all need support, so greed let’s abort All the riches we have fall far short I’ve heard of the poor with painted shoes on their feet I’ve read of the war and tainted food that they eat Never hesitating to share their sorrow Their desperation could be mine tomorrow Keep my heart pure, pride do I swallow As waters are rising, in the tide do I wallow Water washing pure my sins which I’m sure will not win Now I’m all in

Liberty and Justice...For Some

Image
On that fateful night in the rain A seventeen year old died in pain Outside appearance weighs so heavy But what lies within isn't necessary  When the time came to speak the truth Trayvon was dead and Zimmerman aloof Stand your ground won in the end With our courts leaving much to amend Self defense is cherished, but other rights not so True liberty has perished a far long time ago Give George back his beloved gun, he needs it after all And Trayvon's life set anger rife, but who will hear this call?

Don't Double Down (ELO Cover)

My thoughts on the doubling of college loan rates. Don’t Double Down (ELO Cover) Bank institutions pay three quarters percent Thanks to the students who are drowning in their debt Don’t double down (no, no, no, no , no, oohOHhoo) I’ll tell you once more, before you all clear the floor, don’t bring me down. These money makers are called too big to fail. Our education just cannot be derailed. Don’t double down (no, no, no, no , no, oohOHhoo) I’ll tell you once more, before you all clear the floor, don’t bring me down. Don’t double doooowwn… rates (x4) Don’t double doooowwn What happened to equality for all? CEOs rising while the rest of us fall Don’t double down (no, no, no, no , no, oohOHhoo) I’ll tell you once more, before you all clear the floor, don’t bring me down. Our future workforce shouldn’t be mortgaged off Let’s have the wealthy give up some of their loft Don’t double down (no, no, no, no , no, oohOHhoo) I’ll tell you once mor
