Free from the Chains (Poem)

Image
Free humanity from it's chains By secret forces causing pains By people who claim they're worth more With rights to make others poor They put on charm like a sorority Even though they're a minority The Rothschild's won't have it all When morals rise, they'll surely fall And puppets entertain only for so long Till the audience sees it's been wronged So till then let's follow charity Bring about moments of clarity Join hands with those across the aisle Strive to go the extra mile Combat hatred with needed laughter Notice those who've heeded disaster Free humanity from it's chains And let our love form new terrains

Infectious Myth-Mefloquine and Military Behavior

In episode 70 David talks to former soldier John Dowe whether the drug Mefloquine (see Episode 67’s interview with Dr. Remington Nevin) could have played a role in the so-called Somalia Affair. In 1993, the same year as the Battle of Mogadishu and Black Hawk Down, soldiers from the elite Canadian Airborne Regiment were also in a restless and violent part of Somalia. Frustrated with locals sneaking in to steal and sabotage, someone ordered them to start “roughing up” anyone they caught. One group of soldiers interpreted this as setting up a trap. When the searchlight was suddenly turned on the soldiers literally blew one Somali into pieces, and severely injured another. In a second incident, a Somali was captured and beaten to death by two other soldiers. When photos were released, a public inquiry and criminal investigation were launched, resulting in one soldier trying to commit suicide, one being sentenced to five years, and several others disciplined. The head of the military was

Carrots: Research & Recommendations #Carrots #Health #Food #Nutrition

Joseph Albrecht Food Paper             For this assignment, I chose to write about carrots because they are a very nutritious food that is also commonly available to the general public.   As someone in the health field, I’d like to promote increased awareness of how nutrient dense foods (carrots being one) can play a key role in warding off disease.               The earliest growth of carrots dates all the way back to 10 th century in Persia and Asia Minor.   These carrots were most likely unique from the ones we enjoy today, as they were originally considered to be purple or white with a thin root.   From this a mutant occurred, changing the pigmentation to yellow and eventually, orange.   The first time carrots were cultivated for storage is believed to be 1,100 years ago in the Afghanistan region.   Wild carrot became widespread before the crop was domesticated (1).   Today, carrots are mainly grown in cooler regions.   The U.S., Poland and China are major exporters

Despite the problems with police, as a whole, our men and women in uniform perform amazing services to our society, while putting themselves at great risk.  The cop killing culture is certainly a culture of death which history will look on with at least as much disdain as its partakers had for officers.  Stay vigilant all.
