Repentance Poem

Repentance

Can you hear me high up there?

Watching over from the air,

I call on you, there’s not much left;

Despite my skills that once were deft.

I’ve promised over and over again.

I’ve pledged to change without an end.

Yet, none of this amounts to dirt,

When I turn away and hurt

What once defined me with great joy.

No longer am I just a boy.

I now petition, but of no use.

My heart is still breaking loose

From frigid chains that bound it tight.

They kept me held in such a fright.

 I plead with you; this time I’m sure.

May you please help provide my cure.
