The Life We Really Live Poem

The life we really live
Lies in what we give
After all has been taken from us
Not the latest craze
Or wasting precious days
That are often thrown under the bus
It's to appreciate things most people hate
Even though they lead us to love
And seeking till we find
The needed peace of mind
That lands upon us like a dove
Length and pace will vary
And times can get scary
But the river of life flows on ever more
Even in our doubt
We never are without
The guidance we need to be secure
So enjoy every moment
So precious we can't own it
Too often it's taken for granted
But when we realize
True grace in all our lives
The darkest life becomes enchanted
