Hopes and Prospects (poem)

For every useless division that we create
There’s a million ways to appreciate
This life that we share is one and the same
So there’s no reason to shame and blame
Learn from the past, don’t let it haunt you
You hide inside when the others taunt you
They step on you like a boot in the earth
But this is true, you are prudent in worth
If our self-worship were put on hold
We may see a change that broke the mold
We might see the one sure vision of truth
If we cast out all that makes us aloof
We persist with our relative talents
Knowing life exists as a delicate balance
