The Gifts of God (Poem)
We claim we're smart, but explain this for sure
How can one seed yield many more
So much more of it's kind when planted and not left behind
Likewise our gifts are to be used
Though many times they are abused
There is a key to try to balance
All of our God-given talents
Let's take good care of all we've got
Whether it's not much or quite a lot
And then find out that hidden treasures
Are worth much more than trivial pleasures
Be humble and follow charity
To create moments of clarity
And our mistakes are to be heeded
To prevent them from being repeated
Each new day is a new day to learn
With an open mind and a heart to yearn
Clear the lies to show the truth
Which appears and stays bullet-proof
Use this as our common guide
Listening to the voice inside
And if you happen to go astray
Make note of it and turn away
For their are many paths to go
But not all have the same to show
How can one seed yield many more
So much more of it's kind when planted and not left behind
Likewise our gifts are to be used
Though many times they are abused
There is a key to try to balance
All of our God-given talents
Let's take good care of all we've got
Whether it's not much or quite a lot
And then find out that hidden treasures
Are worth much more than trivial pleasures
Be humble and follow charity
To create moments of clarity
And our mistakes are to be heeded
To prevent them from being repeated
Each new day is a new day to learn
With an open mind and a heart to yearn
Clear the lies to show the truth
Which appears and stays bullet-proof
Use this as our common guide
Listening to the voice inside
And if you happen to go astray
Make note of it and turn away
For their are many paths to go
But not all have the same to show
