Oregon Within

Way out west there's a different atmosphere

The kind that formed the mind of the pioneer

Can't explain it, so I won't try

But if you happen to drop by

You may want to climb a mountain, there's plenty of those

Or chill down in the valley, sippin some Melrose

Head out to the beaches, tour the rocky coast

Or find the place downtown you love the most

You know I came from way back east

And things are different to say the least

But no matter what the latitude

It will not change my attitude

So if I come back saying howdy

Or even acting a little rowdy

Don't go asking where I've been

I just got a case of Oregon within :)
