Forgiven (Poem)

The price of redemption was hard and long

Yet in my weakness, Christ is strong

Staying positive and present


I’ve dined with kings and with peasants


Been around here and there


Cruised the seas, flown the air


Yet there is much value in


Feeling good in my own skin


I love because He first loved me


Though many things I cannot see


I have a hope beat in my heart


And that, my friends is a good start.

My latest poem about moving an living away from home.  From the day that I left I knew it was for the best I learned a lot on my own Made efforts not to be alone Life’s had its share of ups and downs Setbacks, failures, turnarounds Yet through it all, hope shines on Brighter than the sun at dawn I know it’s not a perfect world Like one big mess in which we’re hurled So much need despite our wealth Much illness among our health And so I’m grateful for it all As I rise up from my fall There never was a better day Than the one that’s not thrown away
