For It Was Love (Poem)

 When my golden halo darkened

When my joy had turned to gloom

It was love who took me in

To the shelter of their room

When sickness came to rob me

Of my health and happiness

It was love who helped me make real healing progress

When the hatred had been stirred up within my fellow man

It was love who cooled the heads as only true love can

So though the skies may darken and uncertainty surround

I'll find my way in brighter days where endless love abounds
