The Federal Elections Commission establishes and enforces rules for federal elections. This page is to assist you in knowing the basic guidelines for campaign fundraising. Any further questions please email grassrootsfinance@teamkennedy.com or you can visit www.fec.gov.

Fundraising Guidelines:

  1. All donors must be U.S. citizens or a lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder). Foreign nationals are not allowed to donate.
  2. A contribution must be made from a donor’s own funds. Funds cannot be provided to you by another person or entity to make this contribution.
  3. Donors must be at least eighteen years old.  Minors are not allowed to donate.
  4. Federal law prohibits contributions from corporations, labor unions, federal contractors, national banks, and foreign nationals.
  5. Federal law requires we ask for the donor’s name, address, employer, and occupation. If you don't have an employer or are retired, put N/A. If you are self-employed, you may put "self-employed" in the employer field and describe your occupation.
  6. You may not collect any cash, check, or other funds on behalf of the campaign. Every donation MUST be made through the Kennedy24.com website, using your donation link.
  7. Donors must make their contributions with his/her own personal credit card. Donors cannot make a donation with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person or entity.
  8. If holding an event, you may not charge admission or make admission contingent on a donation. You may suggest a donation, but can’t require a donation. 
  9. A donation cannot be required in exchange for goods and/or service. A donation may be suggested, but not required.
  10. Contributions to Team Kennedy are not tax deductible.

Federal law allows individuals to contribute up to $3,300 to the primary election and up to $3,300 for the general election. The maximum someone can contribute is $6,600, which represents a $3,300 max donation for the primary election as well as the general election. Any donations up to $3,300 will be spent now on the primary election. Any amount over $3,300 will go to the general election fund.
