My Wish for '26 Poem

 2026. My! So many things to fix!

Violence all around.

Confusion just abounds.

And yet, here we are.

Called to shine like the stars.

We still have cause to hope

As we all learn to cope.

My wish for this new year

Is to live free, without fear.

To be my own best self.

To build my health and wealth.

To tolerate the difficult and those just written off.

To take pride in my accomplishments; but not so prideful to scoff.

To grow my understanding in this strange and awesome world.

And not be too demanding as life’s pages are unfurled.

So, yes there are a lot of needs and things to be done.

I can only control myself; so I’ll start with number 1…
