Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Poem

Horseshoes & Hand Grenades

Horseshoes and hand grenades
Try to stop this damn charade.
It’s just one more man she played.
I wish and hope and pray it ends.
My heart wants to make amends.
Down this road, we dread the bends.
Second chances, I truly believe in.
Forgive me for more than my sin.
Love and hope are forever kin.
Light will shine through again;
Even though we don’t know when.
Feelings grow anew and then?
We stare off a cliff at distant shores.
Fight temptation and other lures.
Repair our past life’s many sores.
Now I know peace at its core.
I don’t need anything more.
For I’ve opened this blocked door.
