The Road we Travel (poem)

The Road We Travel

One can never see the end of their road

But perhaps that makes the travel more interesting

For if we knew every turn, bump and detour ahead

Our ambition would be half-hearted as we approached

It is the unseen which drives ambition

The unexpected which fuels desire

Lessons from the past are always there to guide us

They are our roadmaps to a sound destination

So go whatever speed feels right for you

And heed whatever warning signs may lie ahead

But remember, no matter how far the journey

Or how fast it’s taken

No one ever fully made it on their own
