Serving Those Who've Served Poem

 Caring for others has long called to me

Now I'm serving those who've served to be free

American Veterans of various ages

Fill up my workdays as life turns its pages

I find inspiration in their life stories

Happy to share in the smallest of glories

At times it is hard to witness their grief

But their smiles and humor offer true relief

I long for the day when these wars too shall pass

And things become clear like the finest of glass

But till then my call for service rings out

To care for our Veterans without any doubt

My latest poem about moving an living away from home.  From the day that I left I knew it was for the best I learned a lot on my own Made efforts not to be alone Life’s had its share of ups and downs Setbacks, failures, turnarounds Yet through it all, hope shines on Brighter than the sun at dawn I know it’s not a perfect world Like one big mess in which we’re hurled So much need despite our wealth Much illness among our health And so I’m grateful for it all As I rise up from my fall There never was a better day Than the one that’s not thrown away
