Responsibility Today Each of us has something to answer Constantly moving just like a dancer Though we all differ in our ways We push on through trying days Mistake us not for dependent We are able and competent Reflections from a muddy pond Lessons done from far beyond Within us all lay inner truth Waiting as if in a booth Sometimes it’s harnessed, others it’s not But in the end it’s the only truth we’ve got To use this truth is to combat every lie It’s not up to others, it’s up to you and I

There never was much to my name Neither fortune nor such fame Like a picture with no frame I take what I can get Money doesn’t grip me much. I’d rather feel someone’s touch To let me know I matter, but This hasn’t happened yet Don’t get me wrong, I’m rich at heart Where my treasures will never part My head is still getting smart At life’s many ways I don’t really consider my luck But focus on when I’m stuck This leaves me like a truck Sidelined in a craze To sum it up, I’m competent A conscious of good intent But underneath it is a dent That never disappears The school of life will never close Despite all the students that doze All the maybes, yes’s and no’s Are there when the smoke clears.

Dear Mayor, I'm a college student from Long Island, and have visited New York City, numerous times. I was impressed at the captivating beauty of the skyscrapers and fantastic display of lights at night. However, I'm aware that under the surface of these wonderful sights exists a growing number of city residents who struggle daily to achieve and maintain a comfortable and rewarding lifestyle. The May 6, 2013 issue of The Nation dubs NYC "The Gilded City". As the Occupy Movements have demonstrated, the disparity of wealth among the rich and the rest is exploding. According to the Fiscal Policy Institute, "Between 2000 and 2010,family incomes in NYC's wealthiest neighborhoods increased by over 55%, while family incomes of the city's poorest neighborhoods decreased by 0.2%". As someone worth $24 billion, why won't you support pay boosts and opportunities for sustainable jobs for those in need? The Nation states "Between July 2008 and Ju...

Democracy Now, Russia Today, The Young Turks : news programs that looks at crucial issues like imperialism, environmental issues, constitutional liberties, economic inequalities and justice principles will never be aired on the mainstream media in the US. Why? Well, first of all, funding by corporate news sponsors is impossible. The Ruppurt Murdoch's, Koch brothers and other elites are buying up media outlets, these people want their corporate-capitalistic agenda pushed for, and what better way to do it? Well, I've talked and written thoroughly about this and other political issues, but in the end, actions determine my worth. In a recent Mother Earth News article, Media Executive and Rancher, Bryan Welch, writes about a community in Texas that lives the life many just talk about. "The members of the Homestead Heritage religious community branch outside of Waco, Texas farm with draft animals, grow their own food, make their own clothes and build eac...

I don't need a shiny new Mercedes Benz. All I need are my trustworthy friends. Turning from the glamour of things, I find the joy which nature brings. Simple living, without debt. A life that I will not regret. All of it is worth to me. Living done easily. But many complicate their lives, Filled to the brim with intricate designs. The more they have, the more they want. Money, power, materials, with fame and glory. All of these excesses add up to the same sad story. A tale of humanity crossing the line of real sustainability. In the bitter end, we realize the nature of our human frailty.
