The Written Word (Poem)
Pen to paper, words are written
They leave some loved and others smitten
They can bring joy like a cuddly kitten
Or a sharp pain like needles in a mitten
The word has been around from the dawn of time
Poets and lyricists learned to form rhyme
Page after page reveals something new
The past, present, future of me and you
I love to write for it's helped me a lot
From stories to poems to songs I've got
I'm thankful for this generous gift
It brightens my darkness and gives me a lift
To aspiring writers I wish you the best
