Elevator Life (Poem)

In my youth, life seemed to race like the wind

Never found enough time to just settle in

As the years went by, I learned to pace life

But finding the balance just cut like a knife

Now I'm starting to realize the time I'm given

Broken down into tasks of everyday living

It still isn't easy; for I must confess

The days when my troubles add on to my stress

What to hold on to and what to let go

When to say yes and when to say no

Elevator life moving up, moving down

Has seen me around many a town

But as long as remains a beat in my heart

I'll do my best, to give my greatest part
