Reflections of a Marcher

The rain, cold and wind didn't keep my father and I from joining the March Against Monsanto in Hauppauge, Long Island.  I, along with approximately 100 others, showed support for the restoration of soundness to America's agricultural system.  As a consumer and future dietitian, I want to make health-supporting decisions without worrying about unknowns.  The lack of any long term, double blind, placebo-controlled studies reflects the dark nature of genetic modification.  Michael Taylor, currently running the FDA, was a former Monsanto lobbyist.  No wonder why the FDA claims GMOs are safe for human consumption when the fox is guarding the hen house.

The march was just another way of getting my message out to others who may feel similar.  Consumers, scientists, politicians, farmers and health professionals are rapidly discovering the many flaws of GMO crops.
The lack of MSM coverage was disheartening, but citizen journalism is having a bigger impact, as it is more in tune with the real issues affecting people across the globe.  I've been posting on Facebook, and made some You-Tube videos to express why I was marching.  It is steps like this that will reach out to those who choose to be informed and become a part of this.
