The Tears Of The Dragon (Corporations Parody)
If you're not familiar with the song by Bruce Dickinson, you could look it up. It's a song I like a lot so I decided to make a version of my own.
The Wall Street Journal analyzed 60 major
companies and found they stashed a total of $166 billion offshore in 2012. That
move shielded more than 40 percent of their annual profits from U.S. taxes. In
several cases, the companies parked more earnings offshore last year than they
generated in net income.
The Tears Of The Dragon
(Corporations Parody)
There’s
too many, who believe that we should go.
There’s
too many, who know things they shouldn’t know.
Corporations,
they’ve been getting real bad press.
We
have to help them; we have to save them from this mess.
No
time to waste for anyone…See that you advance.
Anger
rose against us all…We just want our pay.
We
do not care about the poor.
Our
deals are made behind a closed door.
And
if we’re blamed for a class war,
We’ll
flee to our income, on some distant shore.
Can’t
you see? There is no time left to waste.
Can’t
you see? We have to make great haste.
All
our profits…They’re skating on thin ice.
We
can’t stop this…Something else must suffice.
Our
days are getting shorter now…We have to have chance.
Returning
to our former ways…Let’s take back the day
We
do not care about the poor.
Our
deals are made behind a closed door.
And
if we’re blamed for a class war,
We’ll
flee to our income, on some distant shore.
